The National Gallery grand tour.
Undoubtedly the highest-profile project we’ve worked on is the Grand Tour, a hugely successful awareness campaign for the National Gallery through The Partners. This took full-sized framed reproductions of Old Masters out on to the streets of London in 2008. Jim was asked to write 100-word stories to sit alongside each of the 42 Grand Tour paintings on small plaques. These would give viewers context, colour, and a sign-off encouraging them to come and see the real thing. The Grand Tour scooped (among many others) a Design Week Award, Guardian Media Award and a coveted D&AD Gold.
