straightline.
straightline gives people who’ve left prison access to sounds and videos, helping them adjust to life on the outside. It’s by the award-winning National Prison Radio, who realised this neglected and potentially vulnerable audience needed support. As part of Supple Studio’s brand campaign for straightline, we wrote a series of posters featuring the ‘mini stories’ of fictional former prison inmates. Set in a dramatic black spot varnish on a black background and separated by a white line, the top-half story revealed the scrapes they got into without straightline, while the positive bottom-half story showed the progress they made with straightline’s help. The posters won a D&AD Wood pencil in 2017.
